Jeans Dye Remover (JDR) removes ingrained ink, dye transfer from blue jeans etc. on pigmented leather surfaces where regular cleaners are insufficient. Dye transfer from jeans and other textile with poor colour fastness can cause difficult cleaning problems as the colour pigments penetrate the leather surface. The deeper the pigment goes, the harder it is to clean.
To remove such discoloration specially developed products are required.JDR is developed in two levels, 1 and 2. JDR 1 should be used first since it is milder and less inclined to damage the surface colour of the leather. JDR 2 is more aggressive and should only be used if JDR 1 has not had the desired effect and the discoloration remains. In using JDR 2 the risk of damaging the surface colour of the leather increases. Minimize the risk by carefully following the instructions.
Both products are water based and they are not harmful to the environment despite their ability to remove heavily ingrained dye transfer.
Please note! It is very important to follow instructions carefully due to JDR:s powerful cleaning effect and its potential to otherwise cause damage to the surface colour.
Instructions JDR 1
Only treat the parts that have unacceptable discoloration. Always pretest on a hidden surface! Apply JDR 1 on one of the cloths and clean the discoloured surface. As soon as the discoloration vanishes from the leather and discoloration residue has been wiped off, the surface should immediately be cleaned with plenty of clean water on a white cloth. This neutralizes the leather surface and decreases the risk of damages. Wipe dry. If the discoloration remains, use JDR 2.
Instructions JDR 2
Only treat the parts that have unacceptable discoloration. Always pre-test on a hidden surface! Shake the bottle well to create an even consistency. Wear protective gloves. Apply a small amount of JDR 2 on a clean cloth and rub lightly in circles on the discoloured area. As soon as the discoloration vanishes from the leather and discoloration residue has been wiped off, the surface should immediately be cleaned with plenty of clean water on a white cloth. This neutralizes the leather surface and decreases the risk of damages. Dab dry without pressure.
Please note! The shorter the time JDR is in contact with the leather, the lesser the risk of surface damage.
When the wanted result has been reached, re-protect the leather with Trade Secret Leather Protection Cream.
